This project's front and back yards both had good 'bones' including mature fruit trees, some existing hardscape, and spaces already designated for activities like edible gardening, kids' play, and entertaining. With this foundation, we were able to strategically use planting, permeable materials, and woodworking to create an entirely new experience.
This lovely hilltop home with expansive views of the East Bay hills had been extensively remodeled and the landscaping was next in line for an update. A fresh new paver driveway, a pollinator-friendly lawn alternative, and low-water native and climate-appropriate plants were the keys to transforming the landscaping into the perfect complement for the home and surrounding views.

This project began with a beautifully remodeled house sitting on a half-acre lot of dirt with a dated pool that was mid-renovation. Through a long and rainy winter construction season, the landscaping was transformed by clean lines of precise hardscaping and mass planting. The pool and fire pit are now in regular use by the whole family and have proved perfect for entertaining guests of all ages.
